50 x 50 cm oil on canvas
The old vintage bread bin is center stage again, flanked by a classic French cup and saucer filled with fragrant black coffee, strong enough to wake up the sleepy, and my turquoise teapot and gaily coloured yellow coffee pot.

8" x 6" / 20 x 15 cm oil on panel, framed as soon as dry!
Started painting again after recovering from two back to back exhibitions. I thought that I would like a change from still lifes and had a bunch of ref photos from a trip to the beach with the grandsons. Got some interesting shots which is always a bit difficult as people can be funny about strangers taking shots of their kids. We had some great weather this summer almost a heatwave which is unheard of here in Ireland. So it was a great opportunity to get some snaps for painting.

I remembered that I had bought this old enamel bread bin awhile back from an auction and as I had been painting a lot of vintage enamel kitchenalia I dug it out of my garage/store room and hey presto another painting was born! available via my web-site

I bought this lovely cherry red soda siphon in England on a recent trip. There are many vintage, quirky soda siphons around, I am always on the look-out for them, cocktail shakers too.

50 x 50 cm / 20" x 20" oil on canvas
An old brass charger was among a box full of old metal plates and platters, although rather bashed and mended I liked the pattern that had been beaten onto it. Paired with some beeswax candles I thought it would make a good subject to paint, though it became a 'fiddler' I could have fiddled and corrected this painting forever more!

30 x 60 cm oil on canvas
Another painting to carry on the theme of yesterdays painting, the colours of the background are slightly more yellow, can't always get the colours accurate with photography despite photo editing.

12" x 24" / 30 x 60 cm oil on canvas, framed
Now here is something different from my usual style! duck eggs in a row with my old coffee pot, vase and lily. It's so nice to have a change in painting styles, very refreshing, painted a sister painting to this one which I will post tomorrow.

8" x 6" oil on panel, framed
It's coming up to that time of year again! I look forward to the summer for so many months and then it's gone again so quickly. Still each season has it's own pleasures, the turning of the leaves being one of them.

3 lovely juicy fruits, bright colours of summer. How lucky we are to have such a wide variety of fruit available the year through. But none taste so delicious as the summer ones.

40 x 40 cm 16" x 16" oil on canvas
I strolled through a flee market in northern France in June where I found this lovely old Peugeot coffee grinder, looking beautifully chipped and vintage. I bought several other items that will appear in future paintings, looking forward to painting them. I wish I could paint a bit faster, have more ideas than time!

40cm x 40 cm / 16" x 16" oil on canvas
I found this old chipped enamel teapot in a local auction along with a few ancient kitchen bits and bobs including this egg timer, which was so dirty you couldn't see the sand in the glass, so that did get a clean. But the teapot I left with all it's layer of dust and cobwebs. The egg I found with the feather attached one morning while making breakfast, and of course it had to get included

I have got so far behind in my posting, it will take me a little while to catch up. So much to do and time flies by and things get neglected. It is so hot here in Ireland, a very rare occurrence, that it's hard to concentrate and things get put off until the weather goes back to normal, (cool and rainy!)

20 x 25 cm / 8" x 10" oil on panel, framed,
Dug out this pretty piece of material I had, to use it as a background for my pots, love the colours, looking forward to summer.
We have real April weather here, rain, shine and repeat, clouds moved along by the very gusty winds.

My blue bottle again, he has featured in a number of my still lifes, past and present. I think he is admiring his own reflection in his silver companions.

This one was difficult to photograph, the colours are not quite right - the rose is more pink as is the glass, when you correct one colour it skews another. Not expert enough in photo editing to know how to remedy the problem. Anyway this is the first of a pair of paintings involving a single rose.

Another painting of my silver cup with enormous winter strawberries from Spain, and both still with the remnants of the blossom. The third strawberry didn't quite make it as I had to do a taste test!
