A garlic bulb from our local organic garden, I plan to plant the cloves in my garden come Autumn so I will have my own supply.

Absolutely beautiful Diana! I thought of you yesterday!!! I visited an Antique shop in Delaware and they had an amazing selection of old pottery ...beautiful and unique as well as silver vases. So many of them would be perfect for you to setup as a still life. I have a silver vase that I would love to paint someday...

I am fascinated by the tangle of roots on the garlic. They add much to the feeling of texture. Beautiful reflections and shadows, too. I enjoyed Hilda's comment about thinking of you when she was in an antique store and thought of you when she saw some pieces that would fit right in one of your still life setups.
