1967 Old School House

8" x 10" / 20 x 25 cm, oil on canvas panel, framed and ready to hang, available €275

Painted a couple of landscapes between still lives. This is an old school house in the Connemara area of Co, Galway. It probably hasn't heard the sounds of children's voices for many a year. This part of west Ireland is rocky and windswept  and very beautiful.

Hi Diana, you have captured the windswept aspect wonderfully. I felt it right away.

Very well done, Diana. I like the perspective from which it is painted. Is that a corrugated roof? So many of the old buildings here utilized them.

Hi Carol,
Yes the roofs are made of corrugated iron on many old farm and other country buildings here, and so many old and abandoned places great source of painting reference photos.
