1947 White Dress

8" x 6" 20 x 15 cm oil on panel, framed and available HERE

This little girl, in her simple white summer dress, is testing the waters. Her skin is tanned after a summer of beautiful weather and fun filled beach days.

Adorable one Diana. Longing for summer myself.

When I saw this it brought to mind the beautiful, romantic paintings by John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, Whistler and others where the emphasis is on a lovely girl/woman in white. Something about the blue and white combination and the beach-fresh atmosphere is utterly appealing. What a gem, Diana!
