1938 Red Doors

11" x 14" / 28 x 35.5 cm oil on panel, to be framed, available via my web-site

My daughter and I like to explore the area around where we live, here in Ireland, and on one of these walks we came across these interesting farm buildings. The days are short in the winter here, with the sun lowering in mid-afternoon, causing the long shadows on the grass and building.  This was what drew me to paint this scene, along with the bright red doors and windows.

Very nice Diana!!!! The colors and shadows are painted so beautifully. Ireland is one place I would love to visit! My sister in law went and loved it so much!!

You've captured the shadows and light in this scene beautifully! Don't you love it when the shadows stretch so far and almost form patterns on the ground? Well done, Diana!
