20 x 25 cm oil on panel, framed, available
I love composing still lifes and finding unusual objects for them.
The tiny abandoned nest I found attached to a garden fence post in a friends wild garden. It is beautifully constructed from moss, that grows abundantly here in Ireland, sheep's wool from her sheep and the course hairs from her horses tails, who graze in the adjacent field.
I placed the nest on an old slate roof tile, found on a walk when passing several ruined cottages, and the old copper jug acquired at a recent auction and a couple of hens' eggs to finish off the arrangement.

60 x 60 cm (24 x 24ins) oil on canvas
This one has taken me quite awhile to finish, I had to call it 'done' otherwise I wouldn't have stopped fiddling with it! I took a few wip (work in progress) shots so you can see some of my process.
The second layer of paint
Add the mane and change colour of background and refine tones, signed and finished!
