1799 At the Lake's Edge

12" x 9" / 30.5 x 23cm oil on panel

This is Lough (lake) Derg my town borders onto it, many reeds and rushes grow around the perimeter, they die back in winter and in spring the new shoots break their way through the old layer of broken off reeds. The sun was setting, colouring the clouds pink with it's last rays, it is a simple scene yet beautiful in it's simplicity.

This is a beautiful landscape Diana! You certainly proved you can paint anything! I loved your last painting "with a feather on top"...an amazing still life and I loved your color palette...and the perfect reflections...nice work!!!

And, beautiful the painting is! That multi-colored sky is breathtaking. High contrast in this, Diana! Brings up the drama!!
