1742 Ducks and Hens SOLD

40 x 80 cm oil on canvas to be framed (16" x 32") aprox.

I'm enjoying painting in this format again, and the stretched canvas I am using is Italian, a very fine weave, which is a joy to paint on.

When I was exhibiting my paintings last,  I realized that I have too many different sizes and shapes, it is difficult to display them properly, so I am trying to cut down on both, which is not easy.

I bought these duck eggs from our local market recently, they are slightly larger than hens eggs and aren't really white as you can see, which makes them an interesting challenge to paint.

1741 Invader

40 x 80 cm = 12 x 24 ins oil on canvas
Back to serious still lives! This is one of those fiddly ones that I went over several times until I was satisfied with it. It does help to have uninterrupted painting time in both time and thoughts, with this one I didn't so it made hard work of it!

1734 Made for You & Me, 1735 Three's Company and 1736 Spoilt for Choice

 1734 Made for You & Me 24" x 36"acrylic on box canvas

 1735 Three's Company 24" x 36"acrylic on box canvas

1736  Spoilt for Choice 24" x 36"acrylic on box canvas

I've been busy doing some unusual (for me) palette knife paintings and so large too. Used tons of paint, a different sort of still life. I had intended to paint 5 of them but ran out of steam after the third!

1733 Still Waters

60 x 60 cm = 24" x 24" oil on deep gallery wrapped canvas, sides painted, so framing is optional.

Another view across Lough Derg. The lake was calm and reflected the clouds above, to the right are the reed beds which are abundant at the waters edge with water lilies dispersed among them.
