1677 Cut Up and Donkeys! SOLD

6" x 8" oil on panel framed

I painted two small still lifes this week for the People's Art Exhibition in Dublin this week-end and framed them up and then realized that I hadn't taken any pics of them, taking a pic of a framed painting isn't easy because of the shadow thrown by the frame onto the painting so the lesser of two evils was to photograph it full on and then get glare on the surface.

here are a set of donkeys my daughter and I found with some cows while we were out exploring the countryside, the house behind seems to be unoccupied as so many houses are here.

1671 Olive Cup & Kinvara Harbour

8" x 6" oil on panel

This one was a labour of love, I sometimes think that painting on a small canvas takes as much time as painting larger ones, I really should stop myself from painting complicated still lifes so small, and opt for much simpler subject matter.

1667 Leaning Chili SOLD! & Ruined Castle

8" x 6" oil on panel  SOLD

Back to small paintings! My large paintings are stacking up so I thought that I would go back to producing some small ones again.

We are having a sunny spell here in Ireland which is such a welcome break from the cold and rain of the winter and even into April and May, we hope it will last!!! All our wind and rain comes straight off the Atlantic from the west, before going on to the rest of Europe, or peters out before then. Ireland is known for being wet, hence the name 'Emerald Isle' !

1667 Round and Round

50 x 60cms = 16" x 20" oil on panel, unframed

Well it's been awhile since I posted, I haven't had a chance to paint much over the last 3-4 weeks as family matters have taken president.  This is one I started before that time and have finally finished, I found the copper crumb tray and loved it's design, also the quirky hand painted jug, both acquired at a local general auction.

My daughter and children have moved from the States to Europe, back home, and are living with us for a while so with a teenager and a two year old, life is definitely not quiet anymore! But I have put a 'Do not disturb' sign on my art room door (on pain of death!) so as I can get some painting done.

The little finger of my two year old grandson, found the switch for the power supply to my computer, which set off a chain of events that is causing me many grey hairs. Although I though I was being smart and paid good money to have my data stored in a cloud somewhere it has caused me no end of gritted teeth and******!!!+++ words. After getting my PC back from the experts who had wiped my hard - drive, thinking it would be easy to restore my files from the 'cloud' well that is another very long story. Needless to say I will be backing up my files in future on an my own external hard drive!
