A simple one or so I thought, why do I always think that?!! When you forget the patterns there are the highlights, reflections and so many subtle colour changes and reflected light and colours that slowly appear as one paints and one stares at the objects, things one wouldn't normally, consciously register, but make the painting.
The next one is a large-ish one for me, already set up, a copper pan full of oranges and a sprig of Rosemary, so back to work I go .....

Here's a quirky one for you- brown sauce and little individual pork pies it was requested by one of the Art Auction houses I sell through. It is painted in the style of a small series I painted a while back, I may paint a few more in this vein. Next one on my easel is an oil still life, I must say I prefer painting with oils.

The strawberries grown here in Ireland are small and often heart shaped and have the sweetest and best flavour I have ever eaten, and I have sampled a few, for example - Spanish, English and German, and some from Washington but they are not a patch on these beauties.

This is the second of a pair of paintings with a similar set up, I enjoyed the challenge although it's easy to get lost in all the reflections. Now to figure out what I want to paint next!

8" x 6" oil on panel, framed,
I have painted two still lifes with this set up, each slightly different from the other, fun to do but fiddly as you can imagine.

This is my youngest grandson at a recent trip to the beach, he just loved the water and the sandy beach and waded in with no prompting, the water was full of tiny shoals of fish, hermit crabs and other sea creatures that would make themselves scarce when anyone came near.
