1590 Lean on Me SOLD

6"x 8" oil on panel, framed

These luscious strawberries ended up in a strawberry smoothie, a great way to get kids to eat lots of fruit! My daughter freezes very ripe bananas - without their skins, which can be thrown into the blender, still frozen, as a sweet addition to the mix.

Why is it when you go to the store to buy a few things, you always end up with more than is on the list and look at the bill and think how did I come to spend so much!!

1589 Lime Squeeze SOLD

6" x 8" oil on panel, unframed
I have embarked on a series of 6 x 8's  and painting them alla prima which is fun to do and less tedious than my normal method of painting, in several layers,  needless to say this is a much quicker way.

1588 Oranges and Lemons

10" x 24" oil on panel to be framed

A partner piece to the previous painting, the leaves that I arranged with the set up were from next doors flowering plum tree, lovely deep red- purple leaves a perfect colour to complement the fruit. Now I've got to figure out what to paint next....

1587 Limey Intruder

10" x 24"  oil on panel

These luscious lemons have had there group infiltrated by a cousin who tried to pass himself off as one of them, he said that he wasn't quite ripe yet!

Recently I went to get some boards for painting cut and had intended to get lots of large panels, square and oblong, and ended up with a bunch of elongated ones, not quite sure how that happened, maybe because the guy cutting them for me although a sweet young man, probably didn't quite understand my English accent,  and so you will be seeing a few more in this format!

1586 Served on a Silver Platter and Sketch by Crystal Cook

11" x 14" oil on panel to be framed

After the last painting I thought that I needed to paint a straight forward subject, no patterns and not too many reflections, so in comparison this was an easy one! I left the background plain as well just to be nice to myself ;)

                                                 MY PRIZE!!!!

This lovely sketch is by brilliant water colour artist Crystal Cook    http://crystalcookart.blogspot.com/
I received it last week as a prize for closely guessing the subject of one of her paintings from a tiny snippet.
It was beautifully packaged too and was a wonderful gift that I will have framed when I get back home, and always treasure.
Besides checking out her blog, do go to her Etsy Shop and peruse all her work for sale there

1585 By Candle Light and Babykins dips his toe

\16" x 15.5" oil on panel  framed

This is my favourite painting at the moment, and took forever to paint :( but I'm finally happy with it after a lot of fiddling with the tones of the plate and cup. The one I'm doing next is a doddle in comparison!

While I'm painting I'm also looking after my 10 month old grandson which adds to the fun ;O  here is a pic of him dipping his toe into a local river after which he got himself totally soaked and covered in sand so it was with forethought we had a spare set of clothes with us.

1584 Copper teapot SOLD

12" x 12' oil on panel
Another labour of love that I have finally finished, this lovely teapot I bought on Ebay I loved it's 'Art Nouveau' shape and it's lovely feet and handle. The silver plate, belonging to my daughter, has a pierced design from the same era, as you can imagine painting the design of the plate gave me a few more grey hairs ;)
