1583 Stilton & Friends SOLD

8" x 16" oil on panel available

I had started on this one before I painted my fisher-girl and I was glad I took a break from it, which made it easier to finish after my short still-life holiday! The photo is a bit darker than in reality on the right, some paintings are so difficult to photo and edit to give an accurate copy of the work.

1580 Fishing

10" x  8' oil on panel available here

I needed a break from 'still lifes' so I found this ref photo along with some others of this little girl, I might paint a few more children I enjoy painting them, one thing I learned from this painting was, that I need to paint this kind of painting in one sitting, otherwise it loses it's freshness and I tend to fiddle and over perfect when I go back to it.

1577 As Sure as Eggs is Eggs! SOLD

9" x 12 oil on panel available  SOLD
The sunlight came streaming through my window and I put a bowl of eggs on a low box and this composition was created. I love working with light and reflections, shadows and highlights they all add to making an interesting and exciting painting.

1576 Fruit Tea

11" x 14" oil on panel

Another composition from above, I do like this format as you can probably guess, I think it gives a new perspective to a classic subject.

This week-end is the first out door art exhibition on St Stephens Green in Dublin and I won't be there, but hubby is going to do it for me, hope the weather is fine as you can imagine this makes or breaks a good exhibition. We were lucky last year and had reasonable weather for all 4 exhibitions throughout the summer, which is quite a miracle considering the Irish weather!

1575 One Up One Down SOLD

12" x 9" oil on panel

This interesting brass dish/candlestick was another thrift store find. I'm hoping to find a yard sale at the week-end so that I can buy some more props to paint as my large store of still life objects are back in Ireland.
The weather is turning warm here and I need to get out of hibernation!

1574 Black & White SOLD

9" x 12" oil on panel

So many shades of white, and black isn't just black either!

I've just been cursing at Blogspot for changing it's posting format, I do hate it when a site decides to change 'improve??!!' just when I've mastered it and then I have to waste time figuring out how to do everything again!
I can't see why it needed fixing, maybe to keep a geek or two employed ;D
