1398 Sylvester

30 x 30 cms = 12" x 12" oil on linen

Another kitty a real fluff ball too, he reminded me of tweety bird's Silvester! I wonder if he's ever caught a tweety bird?

1397 Plum Escape SOLD

6" x 6" oil on canvas board
I am trying to decide whether I should keep up my endeavour to paint more loosely or just accept the fact that I am a perfectionist at heart and go with that. I do admire artists who can portray an image with a few brush strokes that is easily recognizable to the viewer.  I have such a hard time with that I correct my paintings to death ;(  and I can't seem to change that in my style.

1396 Sunshine Faces SOLD

6" x 8" oil on panel palette knife painting

These lovely ladies were in a vase at a friend's house and they were so sunny and bright and cheerful they filled the room with their ambience. So they were duly captured by my camera and I thought that they were a perfect subject to paint on this windy, wet and chilly day.

1395 Daisy, Daisy SOLD

6" x 8" oil palette knife painting on panel

I decided that I needed to go loose after 3 tight paintings and it's great to slap on the paint, lovely and thick,  moving it around the surface with a palette knife, very satisfying!

1393 Satin & Sparkles SOLD

6" x 6" = 15 x 15 cms oil on canvas, sides painted

Number two painting of my glam high heels series this time I posed them on a rather chic satin shawl with it's own sparkly fringe (not featured) both shawl and shoes I picked up in my local charity shop for a few Euros, it is a wonderful source for still life objects.
I haven't made my New Years Resolutions yet (I guess I'm a bit afraid of not reaching my goals) but I think I will have to be a bit braver and resolute, I have a number of goals swimming around in my brain so my first goal is to define them and post them here, did I really type that  eeek!?

1390 Tigger 2 SOLD

30 x 30 cms. = 11.8" x 11.8"  oil on linen canvas

This is a painting of Tigger one of my daughter's cats, when he was a kitten he was just an ordinary ginger and white kitty but as he grew so did his fur until he was a bundle of the softest fur which needs to be groomed everyday. He does valiantly try to clean himself but he ends up with a mouth full of fur.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  hope you had a ball last night ringing it in with lots of Champagne!
