Once again I took part in the open air art exhibition held three times a year around St Stephens Green, a tree filled park in the center of Dublin. Hundreds of artists took part, and the weather, after a number of weeks of rain decided to be sunny and dry, which brought the people out to in force.
Well I am a happy bunny now as I sold 12 paintings and one commission (Liam) and then I sold 3 more on-line over the weekend too. So I'm grinning from ear to ear : ) My cat paintings drew a lot of comments and I sold three of them also cows seem to be popular too ..... so I can see more cat and cow paintings in my future and I don't have to be a clarevoyant to see that lol!!!
I am still recovering as I found the 3 days quite exhausting as I had no help and it was a lot of work, I haven't
finished unpacking and sorting out my paintings yet and there's a huge stack of ironing glaring at me in the corner. Well when I get back in the painting groove you guys will be the first to know xxxxx

Can't get away from those sneakers!
This little pair left in the grass, belonged to a cute little boy and taken off so that he could feel the soft blades of grass between his toes and run free.

The fourth and last of my gone rowing series. I painted these four on boards primed with black gesso so painting black shoes on a black ground was not as easy as it sounds, but if we don't challenge ourselves then we stay in a rut.
I like painting in series and have been following a few, Carol Nelson did a series of 100 portraits in the Fauvist style and at the moment Karin Jurick is in the middle of her series of 100 4 x 4inch portraits. I'm not sure I could manage 100 that requires a lot of commitment and ref photos, so I will stick with mini-series for the moment, maybe a challenge for the future.

Another pair of sneakers, having fun with these, one more to go then a larger landscape that I need to work on as well. What is time consuming is the photographing of the painting and editing it and posting to blogs and my website, can take as much time as painting it!

Another sneaker painting like the last one, I am enjoying painting these small paintings, but I've had to get out my small brushes for the details, might do another I dunno, we'll see, as my mother used to say!

This is a new size board for me but I quite like it, tried to stay loose, but my old correcting brush kept dancing around, I just can't help myself!
I went to my daughter's rowing club for their annual regatta earlier this year and when the girls got into their boat they took off their shoes, which was great for me, so there I was sneaking around taking pics of discarded sneakers, and trying to do it so nobody would think I had a few screws loose!

This ol' truck was stuck in the middle of a field with trees taking root in the bed, long abandoned by the owner, but the four legged inhabitants of the field were enjoying the shade it provided on a hot summers day.

Another palette knife painting the last maybe for a while, I like the sea and the spray in this one a bit more movement than my other boats who were either tied up, anchored or gently meandering along.
I'm ready to move on to new pastures now and paint something different, what I'm going to paint next I don't know - watch this space!

Another palette knife painting, this neat little sailing boat with it's red sails reflecting in the water with a stunning backdrop of a rocky coast line, seems to be meandering home after a enjoyable sailing trip.
