I have decided that I prefer to paint on canvas because the gessoed boards are so slick and don't hold on to the oil paint as well as canvas, but as I have a large supply of boards I guess I am going to have to use them up. Got fed up today with a larger painting so I painted over it in my frustration! and started something totally different with this little painting which didn't turn out too bad.

'Annies Lillies' NFS

24 x 30 cms = 9.5"x 12"inches oil on linen stretched canvas
These are lilies growing in my friends' lovely garden with a tiny visitor stopping by for a moment
The scent was wonderful as I took my close up reference shots. I have painted this subject before probably because I think that lillies are among the most beautiful flowers.

'The Rock of Dunamaise'

11" x 14" =28 x 35.5cms oil on gessoed panel
We went sight-seeing one Sunday afternoon and were blessed by a rare bit of sunshine, so armed with my camera we went to visit this old picturesque castle ruin set on the top of a hill, and I got a bunch of lovely photos. The views from the top of the hill were pretty too. The castle was surrounded by lots of wild flowers which made it look even more romantik.
