Cool concept for this painting, Diana! Am I detecting that you worked on a black-painted surface? Karin Jurick swears by that. If you did, how did you like it?

Hi Susan, Yes I did paint this on a board that I had painted with gesso that I had coloured with black acrylic. I found it more difficult to paint as the surface was very smooth and the paint slid around on it. I might try painting on a canvas board that is painted black, I haven't quite decided whether I like painting on black or not, although I have been looking at Deb Schmidts blog and on some of her paintings you can see some black outlines around her figures which I like. I'm not sure whether she works on black or just outlines them.
