Hi Diana!
I am checking out your blog and I really like what you are doing here. Dominant hues are so fun because they get an artist WAY out of their palette comfort zone. Then, as you get to the completion of the painting, you get to place that bit of complimentary color to really make your painting pop! I use an analogous color wheel and it shows how you can use adjacent and discord colors too.
Have fun!

I like this painting of the pepper. It does look like you had fun painting it. Love the strong colors.

hi Diana, love the pepper; good strong brushwork colour and tones, the background works well some people wouldn't think of using a similar or related colour but it works well. I think your recent figure work is great you really captured those two sisters, again I couldn't do it here in fact someone phoned the police on me yesterday for photographing a farmhouse and some horses! paranoid or what? so photographing on the beach would probably get me lynched.

The portrait of your daughter is very good I think this is your strongest work- people.
