This arrangement took me ages to paint having painted 6 x 6 's for so long 8 x 10 seemed enormous!

6" x 6" = 15 x 15 cms oil on gessoed board

I though I would go for a simpler painting today after the last two. I put the apples on a piece of red silk that made the green apples really sing.

'Marble Reflections' (available)

6" x 3.5" = 15 x 9 cms oil on canvas board $45
This was a tiny one to paint but took me just as long as a big one, I must have lost my marbles!

'A Touch of yellow' SOLD

8" x 10" =20.3 x 25.4 cms oil on gessoed board
Here are some finds from a local second hand store, I thought that they would make an interesting set up and I love the colours too. I thought it needed a touch of yellow when I thought I was finished, hence the addition of the flowers.

'What Happened to You?' (available)

6" x 8" = 15 x 20.3 cms oil on gessoed board $65
Lemons again still trying to get loose, went out this morning and bought lots of quirky ornaments for my next projects which I am looking forward to.

'Just a Jar' (available)

6" x 6" = 15 x 15 cms oil on gessoed board $55
This painting I am actually posting the day I have painted it, I have been a day behind all week. Here's another attempt to get looser, but try as I might it is not my natural way of painting and I am always going back in and correcting stuff. The other problem I have is getting the shadows dark enough, I just don't see the tone properly, anybody know how to get around this problem?

'And Then There Were Three!'

6" x 8" = 15 x 20.3 cms oil on gessoed board $65
This painting I almost finished yesterday, but I wasn't happy with it until today, when I made a few alterations to it, now it is as finished as it ever is going to be!

'The Trio' (available)

6" x 6" oil on gessoed board € 45
I painted this yesterday, but it was too dark to photograph it properly and after many attempts today, to get the colours correct this is it.

'Stranger Among Us' SOLD

6" x 6" = 15 x 15cms oil on gessoed board €45
These pretty wild flowers were growing on a piece of waste land where I chuck the ball for my dog in the afternoons. I was wondering what I was going to paint today and they looked so bright and cheerful I picked a bunch of them. The little white daisy got plucked up with them so she got the supporting role. It was a hard one to paint wet into wet as yellow is quite a weak colour and I find it hard to find the right colour to use for the shading.

'In the Spotlight' SOLD

6" x 6" = 15 x 15 cms, oil on gessoed board
Today I have gone for a realistic approach, this is my 100th daily painting ( this is not including the posting of older paintings, when I couldn't get it together!) I can see the enormous improvement I have achieved, looking back at some of the earlier posts. I am always discovering new techniques and better ways of doing things and I probably won't stop learning until I pop my clogs!

'Rustic Keyhole' SOLD

6" x 8" = 15 x 20.3 cms, oil on gessoed board € 45
I have n't posted anything since last week because I have been painting four commissions and also the walls in my apartment! So I started back today with a fresh set of boards to work on and I couldn't paint.. I kept wiping out my attempts ( I think I was setting up way too complicated arrangements) and then I remembered this photo I had taken of an old door on an equally old house that had been patched many times and was painted this lovely blue. So hey presto off I went and this is the resulting painting.

'A Sprinkling of Poppies' (available)

6" x 8" = 15 x 20.3cms, oil on canvas board €45
Here is another olive tree, old and gnarled like so many around here. The olive oil is wonderful here and if you have your own trees you can take your harvest to the local municipal press and get them pressed, but you have to have a certain amount. I think it is a lot of work picking them.

'Olive Grove' SOLD

6" x 8" = 15 x 20.3cms, oil on canvas board €45
This olive grove I walk past often when I take my dog for a walk and it looks so pretty with the lush greenery and pretty yellow flowers surrounding these old olive trees.
